Min. Charles Hightower Jr.

Minister Charles Hightower Jr. currently serves as the Minister to Youth at Union Baptist Church in Cambridge, MA.  After much prayer and discernment, Min. Hightower accepted the call to be a minister in April of 2010.  Subsequently, Min. Hightower preached his initial sermon on July 11, 2010 and received his pre-ordination license by unanimous vote from Union Baptist Church.  Min. Hightower is in his second year of a Master of Divinity Program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary’s Center for Urban Ministerial Education in Boston, MA.  While in seminary Min. Hightower has been focusing on Pastoral Care and Counseling, Homiletics, Systematic Theology, and Christian Education.  Prior to accepting his call to ministry, Min. Hightower served on the Deacon Board and as the Sunday School Superintendent at Union Baptist Church.  Min. Hightower has been a member of Union Baptist Church since he and his family relocated to Cambridge, MA in February of 2003.  Min. Hightower also holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He is the blessed husband of the lovely and former Nikki Ndidiamaka Temuru.  Presently, Charles and Nikki live in Hyde Park, MA and they are the proud and fortunate parents of Daivon, Azana, and Niara.  Min. Hightower is currently seeking ordination through the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts.
