Reverend Charles Hightower Jr. is the Associate Pastor to Youth and Young Adults at Union Baptist Church, where he has been a member and serving since June 2003. Rev. Hightower is a native of Atlanta, Georgia where he grew up at Ben Hill United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Walter Kimbrough. At Union Baptist Church, Rev. Hightower has served in several ministries. He has been a Sunday School Teacher, served as the Sunday School Superintendent, and an Ordained Deacon. As an Associate Pastor at Union Baptist Church, Rev. Hightower serves under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, Rev. Paul R. Ford. Rev. Hightower answered the call to ministry in 2009. He is a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel. Currently in his third year of pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Roxbury, MA, Rev. Hightower has concentrated on Christian Education, Homiletics (Preaching), Pastoral Care and Counseling, Theology, Urban (Inner City) Ministry, and Church Administration, Management, and Leadership. He has also completed courses in Baptist Polity and Church Ethics. Rev. Hightower also holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).
Rev. Hightower considers it an honor, privilege, and blessing to serve the people of God. He loves the body of Christ. Rev. Hightower is dedicated and committed to equipping all of God’s people for works of service and obtaining full maturity in Jesus Christ. He resides in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, MA with his beautiful wife and partner in ministry, Deacon Nikki Hightower, and their three children: one adult son and two daughters (Daivon, Azana and Niara).
